The LA International Film Festivals will host in-person live events this year, and the teams are looking for volunteers for its new venue, the Roxy Theater in Little Tokyo. This much-anticipated festival celebrates film from an international perspective with a focus on international cinema. The festival features documentaries, independent films, and feature-length films from around the world that speak to our global society. There will be in-person events during the festival, including panel discussions, post-screening parties, dinners, and the LA Film Festival Gala. These events will be held at the Roxy Theater in Little Tokyo, conveniently located near downtown Los Angeles and easily accessible via public transportation or car.
Requirements for participation in the LA International Film Festivals:
- Must have a working knowledge of the English language
- Comfortable engaging in small talk with strangers and fellow volunteers
- Commitment to attend all events during the festival, including pre-festival workshops
- Ability to ferret out news for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
- Familiarity with WordPress
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with very little instruction as projects are assigned daily
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals
The program of the event
The LA International Festival is organized by a group of volunteers who have been long-time viewers and supporters of the festival. Organizers are excited to share their knowledge and experience with eager volunteers as they organize this special event.
The Roxy Theater has a 25-person capacity and is equipped with an HDTV, a professional sound system, wireless microphones, and recording devices. Volunteers will be assigned to help plan the event for a day to ensure the venue is full, loud, and lively!
